Had the combo #10 with rice, refried beans & white cheese sauce. Wife had chicken quesadilla & guacamole salad. I went in hungry & got exactly what I bargained for. Possibly the best Mejican restaurante in Sherwood/NLR...I know it's saying a lot, but this is Arkansas. Also had the mini chimis (chimichangas) stuffed with strawberry cheesecake & dusted with cinnamon sugar along with included vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce. It was a home run. The service was on point & our party of 7 was well taken care of. Drinks filled so quickly I was caught of guard a few times. Even threw in some extra tortillas to "finish up" the cheesy sauce & refried beans mixture. :) Friends had carne asada & the Mexican mixed grill with shrimp steak & pollo...and cactus. They said these items were very good also. They also offer a military discount. Thumbs up! Dropped to 4 stars because it doesn't compare to Guadalajara!

I asked if there were any specials. The waiter pointed to the front of the menu and said chimis were on special. I asked if he was sure; he said yes (he was pointing at a different day). I said okay. $5.49 (I think it said) wasn't too bad. The food was good, and I got the free dessert for checking in on the app. When I went to pay, suddenly my special was $10?? She said I had the grilled chicken, when I asked why it was so much. No, actually, I'm vegetarian and substituted beans. Nice try. Then she charged $6.99. I said that the server said what I had was on special. She ignored me. The food was good, but I'm not down with the bait and switch at the register. I don't think I'll be going back.

I guess the other reviewers are related to the owner. I am here for work and was looking for a good Mexican place. Based on the reviews I hopped over here. The atmosphere was terrible and servers spoke little English. I wanted some chicken street tacos on corn tortillas to be somewhat healthy if possible. They did not offer anything like this. I got fajitas and they were very oily. If your looking for canned salsa, canned cheese dip, out of the package refried beans (they do not offer any other beans besides refried which means they open a zip lock) and dry rice then come here. This was not nearly as good or fresh as Del Taco a fast food joint. This place sucked and I spent 21 bucks after a tip for mixed fajitas.

Great little place in the corner of a hidden shopping plaza. The food was good and the beer was dirt cheap. Fast service and tasty salsa. White cheese on everything!

I am ready to accept the hate mail. I lived in Southern California for 23 years and my step father is from Chihuahua, Mexico. My best friend during my teen years was Mexican. I spent many nights eating food prepared by his mother and drinking Tequila with his family. My childhood is filled with authentic Mexican food. I lived, ate, and breathed real Mexican food since birth. This is place is just like every other Mexican place in Arkansas: nothing seems fresh(except for say the herbs and things like the onions), very generic, lots of Americanized flavors, stuff tastes like it comes out of a can, and the the margaritas are made from mix(not fresh). You can taste it. Make me a real margarita. Be the only restaurant in the area that does that. I didn't grow up in Mexico so maybe season (just) ground beef inside of a tortilla covered in sauce is the going item considered a "enchilada" but that doesn't do it for me. I don't taste flavor, I don't taste fresh, I don't feel like I am eating real Mexican food. I have eaten here 12-15 times over the last 4 years. The service is very consistent, which has been great. The wait staff is probably the best thing about the restaurant; very attentive, polite, and helpful. They really nailed the standards with their employees. The salsa is also pretty damn good. Like every other Mexican place in Arkansas, the place has like 120 things on the menu which are basically different combinations of about 12 different ingredients. It's pointless and makes people think they have variety but are really just deciding whether or not they want a beef burrito with guacamole or without. For the love of god, do not get anything with fish; it is terrible. The shrimp is also frozen and not properly prepped. If your going to serve shrimp, clean the damn poop vein out; I don't want to eat that. The place isn't terrible but, again, it's like the other 30 restaurants within a 15 minute drive. Generic food, slathered in fatty re-fried beans, guacamole, and cheese sauce.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. We love Mexican food!!! We always order a large order of cheese dip, mixed fajitas, and beers. Sometimes I order the large beef burrito if I don't feel like sharing fajitas with my husband. I should make a meal on their cheese dip and salsa since I eat so much I am miserable by the time our food comes. =) As soon as you are seated they bring you canisters of their homemade salsa and chips. My husband orders the large Dos Equis Amber with lime, and I stick with my usual Corona with lime. The servers are very quick to get our orders and it's only a matter of time before you get your cheese dip. I have even had them bring my cheese dip and dinner at the same time. They are that quick sometimes! The fajitas are always sizzling and piled high with onions, peppers, and meat. The single order will fill us both up, or we order a double if we want to take some home for left overs the next day. I have ordered a burrito there a few times, but I cannot remember the name. They have several different burrito options on their menus as well as tons of options for other food items. I have a feeling you cannot go wrong with whatever you order there. The restaurant is large with a huge amount of seating. This location would be great for large groups anytime of the day. We have been on weekends with the place packed, and we only have to wait a few minutes for a table. The servers are quick to bring you whatever you need and to clean up after you. They have a small bar, but a nice size bar area with tables and booths to watch games if you like as well.

This is the best Mexican food in North Little Rock that I have been to. The fajitas are the best and so is their cheese dip.

All the criteria I look for in a Mexican restaurant. Good food Fast service Ice cold bottled beer selection Reasonably priced Not fancy or pretentious, good solid spot. I bet the yuppies hate it. That makes me like it even more.

Great fast service, very reasonably priced. Happy hour drink specials everyday. Had the #9 combination platter with cheese sauce, very good and very impressed consider the location was in a strip mall. I knew I was in the right place when it was so busy on a Sunday afternoon.

I don't know what I got... But it was good. A really hot plate with good seasoned rice, and beans. The main thing had tortilla strips, blended in with a chicken and some sauce, and all topped with cheese. Also kinda spicy. Mucho Gusto

It's very good cheap-fast-Mexican! The menu is typical, but the execution is good. The tortilla soup is REALLY yummy. The flan is mediocre, but mediocre flan is still good, in my opinion. We weren't there for happy hour, but their alcohol prices looked pretty good. I'm definitely going back!

First off, the service was 5 stars here!! The complimentary chips were refilled before we even needed them, and our glasses were filled very promptly! Secondly, the chips and salsa were great, obviously fresh, and their salsa is perfect, no chunks, lil tangy and a lil spicy, and again fresh tasting! My boyfriend got a Fajita burrito (or something like that) and he really really liked it. I am giving 4 because I thought it was tasty, but it's not my favorite Mexican place... Just a matter of opinion, I just wish I had gotten my burrito dry and I think that knocked it down a little bit for me. I just got my standard bean and rice burrito. Nice soft tortilla, needed a kick of hot sauce but good stuff! I dont know of many places where you can feed 2 people until very full, and get a fountain drink served to you for under 20 bucks including a gracious tip! I will definitely be back to try their chimichangas!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
